Ramadan: what it means and how it can affect your driving

I’ve been a DVSA driving examiner for 16 years and I’m also a practising Muslim, so I’m going to tell you a little about the month of Ramadan and how it relates to driving.

I won’t assume that you’re also a Muslim and reading this to manage your own driving. You may just be interested in learning about different religions and cultures and how they add to life in the UK, so I’ll start by telling you a bit about the month of Ramadan.

Well, we’d rather keep the energy up and enjoy the European Championship summer. So let’s focus on the thrill of people coming together in a common cause. After all, it’s a rare opportunity to put aside local rivalries and get behind your national team; a time when friends and family can enjoy a drink, a laugh and some good-natured shouting at the screen!
