Welcome to Safe Driving for Life!

This site is designed to be a hub for information about driving and riding, to help keep all road users safe.

It's divided into four main user groups:

Learners - for new drivers and riders who are getting on the road for the first time. The information in this section explains the whole process and walks you through the steps you need to take to get your full licence.

Driver and riders - for anyone who already has their full driving licence but would like to refresh their skills, check their knowledge or see how to take steps to become a more skilful driver or rider.

Instructors and trainers - the people who teach practical skills to new drivers and riders are vital in keeping our roads safe. This section contains help for people hoping to become and instructor, and also those who are already qualified but would like to know more about furthering their career.

Professionals - for anyone who drives for a living. This section tells you how you can become a bus, coach or lorry driver, gives help and advice to those who are already qualified but hoping to improve their skills, and also covers people who may drive a car or bike for work. There's also some advice for how businesses can keep their drivers safe.

You'll find several Knowledge Centres throughout the site which contain loads of practical help for both learners and experienced road users. These sections align with the national standards for driving and riding, and for instructors.

The official Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) shop enables you to purchase books, software, apps and other resources to help get you on the road, and keep you safe once you're there!

This site is ever-evolving, so if you have any suggestions, please use our feedback form to tell us.
